Genesis is an HYUNDAI luxury brand that has been launched in a separate division from HYUNDAI for the past three years.

The beginnings of the vehicle are similar to Lexus, which was designed by TOYOTA three decades ago.

Interiors

The major thing that the sedan contains is a prominent 14.5-inch infotainment screen that is controlled by a console-mounted dial that incorporates a handwriting-recognition surface.

The 2021 G80 also has a second large console-mounted dial as the gear selector. There is also a 12.3-inch instrument display that includes a 3D appearance for the gauges.

The front seats have bolsters that use bladders to provide varying levels of support according to the driving mode. The all-new and modified architecture of the Genesis 2021 G80 provides a clearer view and visibility using the thinner-A pillars, a frameless rear-view mirror, and a low cowl.

Exteriors

The G80 has a bold look due to its shield-shaped diamond-pattern grille. The middle size 2021 G80 is in line with the larger G90 sedan and GV80 SUV. The 5-passenger G80 includes thin, twin-bar lightning elements that wrap into the front vendors and gives the sedan a bold finish.

The all-new 2021 G80 completes its journey on the 118.5-inch wheelbase as its predecessor. The Genesis G80 is about an inch and a half wider and a touch lower than the G90 sedan and the GV80 SUV, giving it a stunning presence.

The twin-bar lights are carried through the LED taillights on the rear body and the fender vents aft of the front wheels. The back panel lights start on the rear haunches and complete their circuit side-to-side to the rear panel.

From a third-person perspective, the 2021 G80 sedan has a long hood and low, sleek fastback roofline that clears down into the rear deck. There is a crisp character line flowing from the top of vendors through the side and above the rear wheel arches that give the sedan a tapered, aerodynamic look of a 4-door coupe.

What’s new in the 2021 Genesis G80

The most major change that the G80 has made is the elimination of the 420-horse-power V8 engine as an option. The previous aspirated 3.8-liter V6 engine has been replaced with an all-new 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine.

The previous step-up engine has been replaced with a new 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. The previous engine was a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 that was used to slot between the base V6 and V8.

The additional AWD adds up to $3,150 to both the basic and advanced model whereas the prestige AWD adds $2,550 more.
